Days after his heroics in the third Test against Australia, Hanuma Vihari was in the news again on Wednesday and this time, it was not for his batting skills, but for his wit.
Vihari had received immense praise for playing through a hamstring injury along with Ravichandran Ashwin to take India to a draw. However, Bharatiya Janata Party MP Babul Supriyo was not impressed by his knock and criticised him for his slow innings.
Supriyo said in a tweet, “Playing 109 balls to score 7 !That is atrocious to say the least Hanuma Bihari has not only killed any Chance for India to achieve a historic win but has also murdered Cricket.. not keeping win an option, even if remotely, is criminal. PS: I know that I know nothing abt cricket.”

Instead of commenting on Supriyo’s criticism or defending himself, Vihari replied to his tweet just to correct the spelling of his name that Supriyo had misspelled. Vihari replied, “*Hanuma Vihari.”
Twitter hailed Vihari’s sense of humour and slammed Supriyo for his unnecesaary criticisms.
PTI reported that Vihari has been ruled out of the fourth and final match with a hamstring tear that could keep him out of action for a considerable time.
