With COVID-19 cases rising in the state, the Haryana government on Sunday announced the imposition of a one-week lockdown starting from May 3.

Anil Vij, Haryana’s Home and Health Minister on Sunday on Twitter said, “From May 3, there will be a 7-day long lockdown in the entire state”.

A weekend curfew was earlier enforced in nine districts.

On Saturday, the state had recorded 125 COVID-19 fatalities, taking the death tally in Haryana to 4,341, while 13,588 fresh cases have been reported to push the COVID-19 cases tally to 5,01,566.
