Chris Morris’ 18-ball 36 helped the Rajasthan Royals secure a three-wicket win against the Delhi Capitals at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium on Thursday. 

Earlier, Avesh Khan dismissed David Miller after the latter notched his 10th IPL fifty to swing the match back in teh Delhi Capitals’ favour. The Capitals were comfortably on top of Royals, having removed their top five batsmen cheaply. But Miller struck seven fours and two sixes en route to his 43-ball 62 to keep Rajasthan alive in the chase for their first win. 

Earlier, Jaydev Unadkat’s brilliant 3/15 spell helped the Rajasthan Royals restrict the Delhi Capitals to a 147-run total. The Royals made a dream start, with pacers Unadkat and Mustafizur Rahman wreaking havoc on the Capitals top-order. However, Rishabh Pant led a fightback with his 13th IPL fifty.

. Two more sixes from Morris in the final over and he proves why he is IPL’s most expensive player ever. Miller resurrected a seemingly dead and buried Rajasthan, with Morris closing out a morale-boosting win with some clinical power hitting.  

. Chris Morris has taken matter into his own hands, scoring 15 runs off Rabada’s over to set up a thrilliung finale. (RR score: 136/7 from 19 overs)

. Avesh Khan has got the big wicket of David Miller and the momentum suddenly swings back Delhi’s way. Miller looks for his third consecutive six, but doesn’t connect as purely and sends it straight to Lalit Yadav at long on. (RR score: 104/7 from 15.5 overs) 

. David Miller keeps Rajasthan in the game with his 10th IPL fifty. Gets to the landmark with a single off Avesh Khan. (RR score: 91/6 from 15.1 overs)

. Rabada dismisses Tewatia to break his impressive 49-run stand with David Miller. Does him with a bouncer, which Tewatia chips for Lalit Yadav to take an easy catch at the covers. (RR score: 90/6 from 14.5 overs)

. Avesh Khan has dealt a big blow to Rajasthan, taking two wickets in consecutive overs. First gets Shivam Dube, getting an edge which is well caught by Shikhar Dhawan in the slips, before removing Riyan Parag with a slower one, which the batter chipping it straight to Dhawan at the covers. (RR score: 42/5 from 9.2 overs)

. That’s the one Delhi wanted the most, and their South African paceman has delivered. A seaming delivery outside off gets the outside edge and Dhawan makes no mistake at the slips. (RR score: 17/3 from 3.3 overs)

. Chris Woakes has given the Delhi Capitals an ideal start, dismissing openers Manan Vohra and Jos Buttler in his first over. Vohra perishes in search for a big hit over cow corner, but only manages to chip it to Rabada at long on. Buttler then gets a big inside edge, which Pant collects with an acrobatic effort. (RR score: 13/2 from 3 overs)

. Good running from Woakes and Rabada to steal a double off the final delivery. DC end with a score of 147/8. 

. Tom Curran and Ravichandran Ashwin are back in the pavilion in quick succession. One over remaining. (DC score: 136/8 from 19 overs)

. The wheels are coming of the Delhi innings as Morris removes Lalit Yadav. Another great catch in the deep, with Tewatia taking an impressive backwards-running catch. (DC score: 100/6 from 14.5 overs)

. Out! That’s the wicket Rajasthan wanted. Pant goes for a risky single after a push on the on-side. Riyan Parag makes an excellent effort to pick it up, throw and hit the wickets at the bowler’s end in quick time to catch Pant short of the crease. (DC score: 88/5 from 12.4 overs)

. Rishabh Pant is leading from the front, bringing up his 13th IPL fifty. Gets to the landmark with a fierce cut shot to find the backward point fence. (DC score: 85/4 from 12 overs)

. 20 off the over! Pant makes Rahul Tewatia pay for being too wayward in his first over. Pant scored three consecutive boundaries, took two doubles and ended the over with another boundary. (DC score: 77/4 from 11 overs)

. Mustafizur joins in the action, putting an end to Marcus Stoinis’ innings. Another slower one, with Stoinis shipping it to Buttler, who takes a good running catch. (DC score: 37/4 from 6.5 overs)

. That man Unadkat again! Deceives Rahane with another slower one. Rahane was coming down the track, ends up chipping it straight to Unadkat for a dolly. (DC score: 36/3 from 5.5 overs)

. Unadkat is on fire! Gets the big wicket of Shikhar Dhawan off the first ball of his second over and is on a hattrick now! Bowls a fullish one on the leg side and Dhawan looks for the scoop, but gets a faint nick on it and Samson takes a blinder of a catch behind the stumps. (DC score: 16/2 after 3.1 overs)

. Jaydev Unadkat strikes to remove Prithvi Shaw. Foxes the youngster with a slower one, which Shaw edges to David Miller at backward point. (DC score: 5/1 after 2 overs)

Samson confirmed two changes to the side that lost to Punjab Kings on Monday, with David Miller and Jaydev Unadkat coming in for Ben Stokes and Shreyas Gopal. 

Meanwhile, Pant also made two changes to the side that beat the Chennai Super Kings last Saturday, with Kagiso Rabada and Lalit Yadav replacing Shimron Hetmeyer and Amit Mishra. 

Delhi and Rajasthan have both won 11 of the 22 times they have faced each other in IPL history, with Delhi having won their last five fixtures against the Royals.
