Delhi Capitals opener Prithvi Shaw took to Instagram on Sunday to say that he has been admitted to the hospital with a fever. 

“Admitted in hospital and recovering from fever. Thank you all for your good wishes. Will be back in action soon,” the cricketer wrote, along with a photo of him from the hospital bed. 

Shaw missed out on the previous game for his side in the ongoing 15th season of the Indian Premier League and was replaced by Mandeep Singh, who bagged a six-ball duck.

Shaw has performed decently so far in the season, scoring 259 runs in nine innings at a strike-rate of 159.87 with two half-centuries to his name.

Meanwhile, DC players were once again forced into isolation after a net bowler of the franchise tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday.

“One net bowler tested positive today morning in test. Players have been asked to stay in rooms,” IPL sources tols PTI ahead of the team’s Saturday match against the Chennai Super Kings, which is scheduled to take place at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

It is the second time during this season that the Delhi team has been forced into isolation. Earlier in the season, six members of the franchise, including physio Patrick Farhart, all-rounder Mitchell Marsh, keeper-batter Tim Seifert and three other non-playing members, had tested positive for COVID.  The Capitals’ matches against Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals, originally scheduled to be played in Pune, were also moved to Mumbai.
