The wheels of the 14th season of the Indian Premier League have started rolling. The smell of the cash-rich league is ushered in early when international cricketing sensations go under the hammer in the frenzy called the IPL Auction.
As the eight teams bid their heart out with new hopes, new ambitions and brand new glittering units, India gets ready for its yearly cricketing gala.
However, the IPL auction isn’t just about superstars, it is about fairytales, surprises, narratives and redemption.
This year the Punjab Kings, or the Kings XI Punjab as they were earlier called, will enter the auction with the heaviest pouch, having an available salary cap of Rs 53.20 crore.
Meanwhile, Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad have the lowest available salary caps of Rs 10.75 crore each.
