The last date for linking PAN (permanent account number) with the Aadhaar card is March 31 and if one fails to do it by the due date, their PAN will become invalid. Now, in case of a PAN is not linked with the person’s Aadhaar card by the due date, a fine of up to Rs 1,000 is liable, according to the Finance Bill, 2021.

If you have not linked your PAN number with your Aadhaar number, here is how you can do it online:

a) Open the portal of Income Tax e-filling i.e., https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/

b) Click on the ‘Link Aadhaar’ in the Quick Links section on the left side of the Homepage. 

c) Enter your PAN number and Aadhaar number 

d) Enter your name as mentioned in your Aadhaar card

e) In case your number is not mentioned in your Aadhaar card and only your date of birth is mentioned, tick the square box against ‘I have only year of birth in Aadhaar card’

f) Tick mark ‘I agree to validate my Aadhaar details with UIDAI’

g) Enter the Captcha Code for verification

h) Click on the ‘Link Aadhaar’ button

After this, a pop-will appear showing you have successfully linked your Aadhaar with PAN card.
