Martyrs Day 2022 will be commemorated across India on Wednesday, March 23, 2022. The day, also known as Shaheed Diwas, is held every year on March 23 to commemorate the day in 1931 when the British hung India’s three young revolutionaries, Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev.

Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, and Rajguru were independence fighters who wished to revenge the killing of Lala Lajpat Rai. The three young revolutionaries were arrested on a variety of accusations, including the murder of British police officer John Saunders in 1928.

They did not, however, wish to murder John Saunders. Their aim was Superintendent of Police James Scott, who had ordered his officers to lathi-charge demonstrators, resulting in Lala Lajpat Rai’s murder

These revolutionaries committed their life to India’s liberation, and their views were widely accepted by the general public.
