Actor Rhea Chakraborty on Thursday hit out at Bihar police chief saying that her ‘aukat’ (stature) is that Sushant Singh Rajput loved her. “My aukat is that Sushant Singh Rajput, who everyone claims to love, loved me,” the actor said during a TV interview.
Bihar Director General of Police, Gupteshwar Pandey, had stirred a controversy when he said that Rhea Chakraborty did not have the stature to comment on state chief minister Nitish Kumar. “Rhea Chakraborty does not have the aukat to comment on the Bihar Chief Minister. What the police did was correct, and according to legal and constitutional provisions,” Pandey had posted on Twitter after the Supreme Court permitted CBI to probe Sushant Singh Rajput’s death by suicide.
Sushant Singh Rajput, a 34-year-old Bollywood star, was found dead on June 14 in his flat in Mumbai. A month later, Sushant’s father filed a FIR in Patna accusing Rhea of harassing the late actor and abetting his suicide.
During the interview, Rhea refuted the allegations and called the ‘media trial’ and ‘witch hunt’ unfair. “I don’t seem to understand why I am at the centre of this case. Maybe because of the witch hunt mentality, because the family has made these allegations,” Rhea said.
“Never thought the world could be so sick. Never knew people cannot see through the false stuff. Made my life a soap opera and everyone is judge and jury,” she added.
