Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, while presenting the Union Budget 2021 on Monday, quoted literary legend Rabindranath Tagore who once said, “Faith is the bird that feels the light when the dawn is still dark.”

Sitharaman stated that the budget was prepared under circumstances that had never been seen before and she quoted Tagore in the context.

The Finance Minister added that this moment in history is the “dawn of a new era, where India is well-poised to be the land of hope and promise.”

Several reliefs have been announced by the finance minister in the Budget for 2021. For the textile industry, the Finance Minister announced “a scheme of Mega Investments Textile Park in addition to PLI Scheme which will create world-class infrastructure with plug and play facilities to enable global champions in exports” during the Union Budget 21-22.

Sitharaman also announced that the budget will focus on increasing the funds for agricultural sector.

The agricultural fund will be available to the APMCs for their infrastructures.
