The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is expecting an assurance on
part of the International Cricket Council (ICC) to confirm that the Pakistan cricket
team would be receiving their Indian visas at the ICC chief executive meeting
later this month, as per various media reports.

Reportedly, the board has further asked ICC to ensure the
visa ahead of the team’s participation in the T20 World Cup, set to be hosted
by India in October, 2021.

It had earlier set the deadline for the assurance to be
March 30, 2021.

Australia was due to host the T20 World Cup, but were forced
to remove themselves from hosting due to COVID-19 pandemic situation in the country.

PCB Chairperson Ehsan Mani reportedly said in February that
in case of the event being hosted by India, the latter would have to take full
responsibility of the squad, including documentation and security such as visa
and security protocols.

He had added that inability to do so would allow for
the tournament to take place in an alternate venue, such as the United Arab
Emirates (UAE).

Diplomatic strains between India and Pakistan have prevented
the two from playing any bilateral series since 2007, leading the two sides to
have a chance to face each other only in ICC tournaments.
