Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the 81st episode of his monthly radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on Sunday, September 26, 2021. The programme will be broadcast on the entire network of AIR and Doordarshan. It will also be available on AIR News and the mobile app.

The radio programme will be PM Modi’s first after his recently-concluded visit to the United States. In New York City, he addressed the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). Before his address at the UNGA, he attended the Quad Summit that was hosted by US President Joe Biden in Washington.

The Indian Prime Minister also held bilateral meetings with US President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris in Washington. He also met his Australian counterpart Scott Morrison and Japanese PM Yoshihide Suga.

In his earlier episode of the ‘Mann ki Baat’, PM Modi lauded the efforts of Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Bihar and Kanjirangal Panchayat in Tamil Nadu for their initiative towards village waste management and self-reliance. The episode was held on August 29, 2021.

PM Modi’s ‘Mann ki Baat’ is held on the last Sunday of every month.

After his visit to the UN headquarters in New York, he also addressed the ‘Global Citizen Live’ festival. In his speech, he spoke about COVID-19, climate change among others.

“For almost two years now, humanity is battling a once in a lifetime global pandemic. Our shared experience of fighting the pandemic has taught us – we are stronger and better when we are together,” he said in a video message.

Hailing the frontline workers, PM Modi said: “We saw this spirit in our scientists and innovators who created new vaccines in record time.”

He added that the human resilience shown in the times of COVID-19 will be remembered by the coming generations.

“The threat of climate change is looming large before us. The world will have to accept that any change in the global environment first begins with the self,” Modi said. The great Mahatma Gandhi is widely known for his thoughts on peace and non-violence but do you know that he is also among the greatest environmentalists of the world,” Modi said of climate change.
