Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who is holding tractor rallies protesting the new farm laws, was stopped at the Haryana border on Tuesday from entering the state. However, he was later allowed to enter by the police, who said Gandhi will only be allowed if he follow the COVID-19 guidelines.

Gandhi drove to Haryana after winding up his last rally in Punjab’s Sanaur. He was stopped at the state’s border on the concluding day of his ‘Kheti Bachao Yatra’.  He was accompanied by Punjab Congress president Sunil Jakhar and senior party leader Harish Rawat.

Earlier on Tuesday in Punjab, the former Congress chief hit out at the Modi government over the new farm laws, saying that the fight against these legislations is “India’s fight” and not just of farmers or labourers alone.

Addressing a gathering in Punjab’s Moga district, the 50-year-old Congress leader had said if these measures in the laws are implemented, then farmers and labourers will become the “slaves” of a few corporates.
