Rajasthan government on Friday extended its order to impose restrictions under section 144 in 33 districts till April 21, 2021 in view of rising COVID-19 cases, reported ANI. The previous order was issued on January 22, restrictions of which were imposed up to February 22. 

Rajasthan first imposed section 144 in the state on March 18 last year. 

Earlier in the evening, the Madhya Pradesh government announced a single-day lockdown in the cities of Indore, Bhopal and Jabalpur on March 21 amid a recent surge in COVID-19 cases. The decision was taken during a review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Sing Chouhan.

Rajasthan reported 327 new COVID-19 cases and three deaths on Thursday, pushing the state’s infection tally to 3,24,101 and the death toll to 2,794, reported PTI.

According to the state health department, 3,023 people are undergoing treatment in the state for the disease.
