Raju Srivastava died Wednesday at the age of 58 in New Delhi, his family said. He had been admitted to AIIMS Delhi in August after he experienced chest pain. He had collapsed while working out at the gym.
The comedian and actor had been in the hospital for 41 days and underwent angioplasty on August 10. His condition had been improving over the last two weeks, his brother Dipoo Srivastav said.
Srivastava, who has been in the entertainment industry since the 1980s, rose to fame after participating in the first season of the reality stand-up comedy show “The Great Indian Laughter Challenge” in 2005.

Raju Srivastava family:
Srivastava married Shikha from Lucknow on 1 July 1993. The couple has two children together – Antara and Ayushman Shrivastava.
His original name is Satya Prakash Srivastava.
Shikha Srivastava appeared on TV with her husband when they both performed in the dance show Nach Baliye 6.

“He fought very hard, I was really hoping and praying to see him come out of this,” his wife said in a statement following his death.
After his hospitalization, Shikha had spoken out about her husband’s health.
“He was doing his routine exercise and while he was on the treadmill, he suddenly fell down. He suffered a heart attack and was immediately taken to the AIIMS hospital.”
Srivastava made his acting debut in Anil Kapoor’s Tezaab (1988). He also had small roles in Maine Pyar Kiya, Baazigar, Aamdani Atthanni Kharcha Rupaiya, Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon, and several other Bollywood films before he tried his luck on on a reality television comedy show.
