In a horrendous incident, a family of a newborn alleged that rats nibbled the toes of their baby in Indore’s Maharaja Yeshwantrao Hospital’s nursery care unit, reported ANI. After which, a probe was ordered by the hospital’s management, officials said.
The newborn’s parents found the baby’s feet bleeding in the middle of the night. They reported to the authorities and treatment started immediately.

The father of the newborn said, “At 3 am my wife went to feed the child and got to know that (rats nibbled the child’s feet). My baby doesn’t have his foot toe,” the news agency reported.
The hospital superintendent Dr Pramendra Thakur said in a statement, “Baby’s treatment has been started and a committee formed to probe the matter.”

The dean of the medical college Dr Sanjay Dixit told TOI, “A three-member committee, headed by Dr KK Arora, has been constituted to investigate the matter. The committee will also fix responsibilities.”
