Australian duo Adam Zampa and Kane Richardson have withdrawn from the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League citing personal reasons, Royal Challengers Bangalore tweeted on Monday. The two will be returning to Australia. Andrew Tye was the first Australian cricketer to opt out of the tournament.

“Adam Zampa & Kane Richardson are returning to Australia for personal reasons and will be unavailable for the remainder of #IPL2021. Royal Challengers Bangalore management respects their decision and offers them complete support,” RCB’s tweet read. 

This decision by Zampa and Richarson comes as India has reported a massive spike in COVID-19 cases.

Delhi Capitals’ Ravichandran Ashwin also opted out of the rest of the season saying that he has to support his family during the crises.

While Zampa has not played for RCB in this season, Richardson has played one game so far.
