As many as 7,000 residents, 50 pets and 2,500 vehicles were evacuated from the neighbouring Emerald Court and ATS Village societies on Sunday, August 28, 2022, morning ahead of the planned demolition of the illegal Noida Supertech twin towers. The demolition was planned to take place at 2:30 pm on Sunday.

Ahead of the demolition, residents of the Parsvnath Society and Emerald Court Society, both of which are nearby, are set to celebrate the series of explosions that will raze the illegal structure to the ground.

As per reports, two drummers have been called outside of the Parsvnath Society, to play the instrument when the demolition takes place on Sunday.

Ahead of the twin tower demolition, it was announced that the traffic on the Greater Noida Expressway will be halted at 2:15 pm as it comes inside the no-go zone that was set at 500 metres.

Since roads around the towers have been closed down and the movement of people banned, the Parsvnath Society made arrangements for 200 residents of the Emerald Court Society in their club and guest houses till Sunday evening.

Apart from the Parsvnath Society, the Silver City Society has also made similar arrangements for food and housing for 200 residents of the Emerald Court.

The demolition is scheduled for 2:30 pm on Sunday, after which, experts project at least 10 minutes will be needed for the dust to settle. The site will be visited by the demolition team, NDRF team and other authorities, following which the residents will be signalled by Edifice Engineering, the company which is in charge of the demolition, to return to Emerald Court.

The twin tower demolition will create about 80,000 tonnes of debris and dust. The Noida authority is set to use its sanitation team to deal with the dust. Meanwhile, the debris will be scientifically disposed of in select locations in the next three months.
