The Mohali police have registered a case against a group of unidentified persons for announcing a reward of $1 million for killing Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, ANI reported. 

The persons put up printed posters on a guide map, which was sighted on December 31, on which they announced that the reward of $1 million will be given to whoever kills the 78-year-old chief minister. 

The Mohali Superintendent of Police confirmed that a case has been registered under Sections 504, 506 and 120B of the the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Punjab Prevention of Defacement Property Ordinance Act, 1997. 

The investigation is currently ongoing, he said.
