Amrendra Pratap Singh of the BJP has won the Arrah constituency in 2020 state assembly election. Arrah Vidhan Sabha constituency is part of Arrah Lok Sabha constituency along with other assembly constituencies viz Barhara, Sandesh, Tarari, Jagdishpur, Shahpur and Agiaon (SC). In 2015, Arrah became one of the 36 seats to have VVPAT enabled electronic voting machines.

Mohammad Nawaz Alam of RJD is the sitting MLA of Arrah. He defeated Amrendra Pratap Singh of BJP by only 666 votes.

BJP’s Singh won the seat in the 2010 assembly elections by bagging 56,504 votes.
