Veteran Indian batsman Rohit Sharma on Friday cleared a fitness test
at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, ahead of the four-Test series against
Australia starting on December 17, PTI reported.
Sharma had sustained hamstring injury During the IPL 2020, leading him
to miss out the ODI as well as the T20 Internationals in the series. Additionally,
he is out of the equation for the first two Tests, but might be able to play
the last two.

“Rohit
has cleared the fitness Test and will soon be flying out to Australia,” PTI
quoted a senior BCCI official as saying on the condition of anonymity.
The
fitness test was held under the NCA Director, Rahul Dravid, under whose ambit
is the evaluation process Rohit Sharma will go through.

In
Australia, Sharma will have to hard quarantine for 14 days before being able to
train for the last two Tests (January 7 to January 11) and (January 15 to
January 19).
His
performance with the bat has played a crucial role in winning Mumbai Indians
the IPL trophy in 2020 season.
