Sachin Tendulkar was on Friday hospitalised days after testing positive for COVID-19, reported PTI. The former India captain had made the news of contracting the virus official on Saturday. He tweeted, “I’ve tested positive today following mild symptoms. All others at home have tested negative.”
According to the world cup winner, he had quarantined himself and was following all the necessary protocols advised by the doctors.
Tendulkar recently took part in the Road Safety World Series Challenge veteran’s tournament in Raipur.
The news comes a day after India recorded 81,466 COVID-19 cases in last 24 hours.
India on Thursday started the third phase of the COVID-19 vaccination drive for 65 lakh people aged above 45. Over 3.6 lakh healthcare and frontline workers were inoculated against the virus after the vaccination drive began on January 16.
