Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on Monday posted a picture of him with Punjab chief minister-designate Bhagwant Mann in the Lok Sabha as the chief minister-designate is scheduled to submit his resignation from the Lower House.
Bhagwant Mann is a two-time Lok Sabha MP from Sangrur parliamentary constituency.
Posting a selfie with Bhagwant Mann, Shashi Tharoor said many Congress MPs came to meet Mann and congratulate him. “I had the pleasure of sharing his joy after five years of being seated in the same bench in the Lok Sabha in the previous term,” Tharoor said in a tweet.
Bhagwant Mann will take oath as the chief minister of Punjab on March 16 at Khatkar Kalan, the ancestral place of Bhagat Singh.
“I will resign as Sangrur MP after going to Delhi today. The people of Sangrur have showered me with so much love for many years, many thanks for this. Now I have got an opportunity to serve the whole of Punjab. I promise to the people of Sangrur that in a few months, their voice will be heard again in the Lok Sabha,” Bhagwant Mann said in a tweet.
