Sonali Phogat who was a BJP leader, actress and a star of the 14 edition of the BiggBoss show passed away on Monday night in Goa. Phogat died of a heart attack according to the Indian Express. She was 42 years old.

The district President of the Hisar BJP Capt Bhupender said, “Sonali ji was
in Goa. I spoke to her assistant and he said that she died of a heart attack”.
Sonali was in Goa with her staff members. She had complained of uneasiness
after which she was taken to the hospital. She expired on Monday night. Her
postmortem is being conducted and her parents are headed to Goa.

Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar extended his condolences on Phogat’s demise. “Received very sad news of the sudden demise of BJP leader Smt. Sonali Phogat ji. May God rest the departed soul at his feet and give strength to the bereaved family members to bear this immense loss,” he tweeted.

Phogat’s claim to fame was her 2019 Haryana Assembly polls, where she ran for the Adampur seat against her rival Kuldeep Bishnoi, who had recently moved from the Congress party to the Bharatiya Janata Party.

The 42-year-old was seen at Big Boss 14 for a brief
period. She entered the show as a wild card. Her debut as an actress was with
the TV serial Ek Ma Jo Laakhon ke liye bani Amma in 2016.

The Tiktok id of Sonali Phogat was @sonaliphogat and she had
2.7M likes and 279.2K fans on that platform. Her Tiktok videos can be found on
YouTube. She mostly posted dance videos on Bollywood or other Hindi songs. She
was also very popular on Instagram and used to post reels on that platform. The
Tiktok ban had not stopped the actress posting her videos online. Her Instagram
profile has 884K followers. Her last Instagram stories were a couple of selfies
she took in Goa. Hours before her death, she posted a Reel of herself on Instagram wearing a pink headpiece while covering her mouth before walking towards the camera. Since the news of her death broke, her Instagram comments have been flooded with fans lamenting her demise.
