The official teaser trailer of ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home‘ was released on August 24, 2021. And it is everything that the MCU fans wished for. The trailer has a couple of easter eggs for viewers to decipher apart from the obvious mind-boggling graphics and visuals.

The trailer shows the film picking up from the aftermath of Spiderman’s fight with Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal). While he is accused of killing Mysterio, which he says he did not, he also grapples with his unmasked identity.

In order to get his old life back, he visits Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and asks him to erase people’s memories of Parker being Spiderman. Although Strange is warned by Wong, his assistant, to not cast the spell as it is dangerous, the Sorcerer Supreme doesn’t listen to him and goes ahead with the spell.

In doing so, he opens up the multiverse and this is where Spider-Man’s arduous journey begins. “The problem is you trying to live two different lives. The longer you do it, the more dangerous it becomes. Be careful what you wish for, Parker,” Strange says.

The teaser trailer reintroduces Alfred Molina as the villain. He is also known as Doctor Otto Octavius. He stages a comeback with his trademark line: “Hello, Peter.”

While this clip shows that he will battle Doctor Octopus, some portions of the video did tease the return of the Green Goblin and Electro.

In previous movies, Green Goblin was first played by Willem Dafoe and then by James Franco and Electro was played by Jamie Fox.

The film’s description reads, ‘for the first time in the Marvel cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighbourhood hero is unmasked and no longer able to separate his normal life from the high-stakes of being a superhero. When he asks Doctor Strange for help, the stakes become even more dangerous, forcing him to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man‘.

The movie also features Zendaya (MJ), Marisa Tomei (Aunt May), Tony Revolori and Jacob Batalon. While the trailer sets the tone and shows what the storyline may hold for the viewers, it is widely anticipated that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will make a comeback that will reportedly set the ball rolling for ‘Doctor Strange’ sequel ‘Doctor Strange into the Multiverse of Madness’.

Spider-Man: No Way Home‘ is slated to release on December 17, 2021.
