On Friday, the final trading day of the calendar year 2021, Indian stock indexes concluded on a strong note, powered by advances in metal and consumer durables sectors, despite global market caution due to fears over the Omicron variant of coronavirus.

Sensex rose 459.50 points or 0.80% to 58,253.82 and the Nifty was up by 150.10 points or 0.87% to 17,354.05 in the previous session. Sensex touched high and low of 58,409.30 and 57,846.52, respectively and there were 26 stocks advancing against 4 stocks declining on the index while Nifty traded in a range of 17,400.80 and 17,238.50 and there were 45 stocks advancing against 5 stocks declining on the index.

Allied Digital Services Limited, Allsec Technologies Limited, Alpa Laboratories Limited, Anupam Rasayan India Limited, Apollo Micro Systems Limited BGR Energy Systems, Swelect Energy Systems, Ginni Filaments, Oricon Enterprises, Tokyo Plast International, and Rama Steel Tubes have made fresh 52 weeks high on Friday.

BSE Metal Index has outperformed the benchmark indices, zooming beyond 2 per cent in Friday’s trading session. Hindalco Industries, Vedanta, SAIL, Jindal Steel, and JSW Steel turned out to be the top gaining stocks within the index.

IDEA, INVENTURE, IDFC, JPPOWER, and RBLBANK were the most active equities on NSE.

The promoters of Steel Strips Wheels along with the persons acting in concert possess a holding of 62.77 per cent in the company. Out of which, 15.67 per cent of the total paid-up capital of the company i.e. 24.97 per cent of the total promoter shareholding were pledged. The company has informed the exchange that a portion of the pledged shares has been released. 

Aditya Birla Sun Life Gold ETF – Growth, Aditya Birla Sun Life Nifty Next 50 ETF, Zodiac Energy Limited, T T Limited, and R.P.P. Infra Projects Limited were the top volume gainers.

The share of Vodafone Idea jumped almost 10 per cent during Friday’s trading session. The MACD is likely to give a crossover in the coming trading sessions. The RSI is also trading in an upward direction.

3IINFOLTD, 63MOONS, A2ZINFRA, ABAN, and ADL hit the upper price band while AAKASH, CALSOFT, CINELINE, DGCONTENT, and DHRUV hit the lower price band. There were 205 securities that hit the upper band while 32 hit the lower band on December 31, 2021.

Tech Mahindra approved the proposal to acquire 100 per cent equity shares in Allyis India Private Limited while the company’s wholly-owned subsidiary viz., Tech Mahindra (Americas) Inc. approved the proposal to acquire 100 per cent equity shares in Green Investments LLC (holding company for Allyis Group).
