Sunrisers Hyderabad, since their rebranding, has been in top form. Maybe the team composition did the trick or new management ticked all the right boxes, whatever it was, the Hyderabad-based franchise has been one of the consistent performers of the Indian Premier League (IPL). In new additions, Kedar Jadhav was bought for Rs 2 crore, Mujeeb Zadran for Rs 1.5 crore, and J Suchith for Rs 30 lakh.
Going in the IPL 2021 players auction, SRH had a Rs 10.75 crores salary cap remaining, and three overall slots remaining; one of which is available for an overseas player.
Hyderabad’s top-order has been solid for some time but the distribution of batters throughout the order needs to be looked at. Abdul Samad’s introduction did pay dividends for the team and if he continues to do so, SRH has their middle-order fixed.
With VVS Laxman in team management, SRH always goes big on youngsters. While Jason Holder’s presence did wonders for them, David Warner got back to scoring runs and kept them in the hunt. If SRH play their cards right, they might end up winning the title.
