Sharukh Khan’s six off the last ball sealed a four-wicket victory and the title for Tamil Nadu against arch-rival Karnataka in the final of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021, on Monday, November 22, at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi.
Tamil Nadu opted to bowl and with the help of Sai Kishore’s brilliant spell of 3 for 12 restricted Karnataka to 151/7 in 20 overs. During the chase, Tamil Nadu struggled in the middle overs due to wickets that kept falling at regular intervals. When Shahrukh came to bat, the situation demanded an acceleration in the run rate and the 26-year-old obliged with a strike rate of 220. With the help of three sixes and a four he scored an unbeaten 33 runs from 15 balls.
