After India set a target of 185 to Bangladesh at Adelaide Oval on Wednesday, November 2, in the T20 World Cup 2022 Super 12, the Tigers began brightly, racing to 66 runs in seven overs before rain delayed the match. However, the covers are now off off and the match has resumed, there remains a chance for the Men in Blue to lose the match.
Team India started their T20 World Cup 2022 campaign impressively, registering consecutive wins over arch-rivals Pakistan and the Netherlands, but losing to South Africa. A subsequent loss to Bangladesh will see India’s chances to qualify for the semifinals hit severely. However, a washout, which seems unlikely as of now, will also dent their semi-final chances.
India and Bangladesh both have four points each as of November 2, after winning two matches and losing once. However, if India is beaten in Adelaide on Wednesday, it will mean Bangladesh will go to the top of Group 2 standings with six points, with only one game to play against Pakistan.
Meanwhile, India will only have four points from as many matches, with their last match remaining against Zimbabwe. If Bangladesh and South Africa are beaten by Pakistan and India wins against Zimbabwe, then all three teams will have six points, in this case, the team with the highest net run rate will advance to the semifinals. This is also considering South Africa wins against the Netherlands and tops the group.

If Bangladesh wins against India and is beaten by Pakistan, they will finish with six points. India will need South Africa to win against Pakistan and Netherlands, while India will need to win against Zimbabwe with a superior run rate.
In contrast, if India loses against Bangladesh and wins against Zimbabwe, but South Africa loses both games, Pakistan and Bangladesh will be the teams who will qualify for the semifinals.
