The Tamil Nadu government on Sunday extended the lockdown in the state till March 31, while directing district administrations to strictly enforce COVID-19 safety measures.

No new measures have been introduced by the AIADMK-led state government, which in its order listed out the advisories issued by the Centre.
All international air travel of passengers, except for purposes as permitted by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), will also remain suspended for that period.
Police and municipal authorities have been directed to ensure that coronavirus-related restrictions and health-safety protocols are strictly followed at containment zones. These protocols include wearing face masks and maintaining social distancing.

The government has also asked people aged over 65, those with existing co-morbidities, pregnant women and children under 10 to take all necessary precautions.
