Hollywood actor Will Smith has faced massive backlash following his altercation with comedian Chris Rock at the Oscars last month.
However, it seems like Smith has finally decided that it is time for some damage control. On Saturday, the 53-year-old actor landed in India and was spotted arriving at the Mumbai airport. According to media reports, Smith has visited India to meet renowned spiritual leader Sadhguru.
The actor was spotted laughing at jokes and interacting with people at the airport, a rare sight for comedians across the world recently.
An image circulating on the internet shows Smith in Mumbai. According to reports, he is currently staying at Juhu’s JW Marriott Hotel.

While Smith might be in India for an anger management retreat of some sort for the first time, he has visited the country before. Back in 2019, he flew to India to film for his reality show ‘The Bucket List’. During his visit, he took part in the ‘Ganga Aarti’ held in Haridwar.
Smith made headlines after he slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars after the latter joked about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s bald head. As the incident drew eyes and criticism, the Academy banned him from attending any event held by the honorary organization in this decade.

This year, he won an Oscar for his performance in ‘King Richard’. After the incident, Smith issued an apology to Rock through Instagram.
“Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive. My behavior at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable. Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally,” he wrote on his Instagram handle.
