Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Tuesday said that there will always be problems between India and China as the border between the countries is yet to be demarcated. He also said that both the countries should implement the consensuses between their leadership to not let differences from escalating into conflicts. He made the comments during an interaction at the French Institute of International Relations in Paris.

Meanwhile, the Chinese Embassy in India also released a  statement on the India-China border situation. “Indian troops illegally trespassed LAC again at the southern bank of Pangong Tso,” the statement read.

The embassy also said that China made solemn representations to India and urged the country to control and restrain frontline troops.

The remarks came after the Indian Army on Monday said that the Chinese soldiers had “carried out provocative military movements to change the status quo” in eastern Ladakh on the intervening night of August 29 and 30. However, the Army said their attempts were thwarted by Indian soldiers. The incident occurred on the south bank of Pangong Tso.

He also said that China is ready to manage all issues through dialogue with India.

“China-India relations have recently attracted the attention of all parties. The boundary between China and India has not yet been demarcated, so there will always be problems of this kind. We are ready to manage all kinds of issues through dialogue with the Indian side”, Wang said.

He also said that differences shall be managed and controlled and should not escalate into conflicts. Though, India and China have held several rounds of military and diplomatic talks in the last two-and-half months, there had been no resolution to the border row.
