A Rajasthan police officer is being hailed as a hero on Twitter after he saved an elderly passenger from falling under a moving train. The incident came to light after Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal took to Twitter to share a CCTV footage of the act.

“An elderly passenger was saved from falling under a train at Rajashtan’s Sawai Madhopur station by the on-duty security personnel,” Goyal wrote in Hindi in the post.
“We are very proud of our security personnel, who discharge their duty with full conviction,” he added.
The video, posted on Friday, has been viewed nearly 35,000 times and has garnered over 5,000 likes and 700 retweets. A number of users have also praised the officer for his decisiveness.

“He should be rewarded with a promotion,” one user suggested, while another said, “Our country needs young men like him, who think of others before themselves.”
