Two soldiers, who were injured in an encounter with terrorists at Kreeri area in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district, succumbed to their injuries on Tuesday evening, reported news agency ANI quoting the Indian Army. One terrorist has been killed in the encounter.

According to the Kashmir Zone Police, incriminating materials, including arms and ammunition, were recovered from the area on Tuesday evening. 

On Monday, two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and one SPO (Special Police Officer) personnel were killed in the Kreeri area of Baramulla districts when terrorists opened fire on a joint post of the two forces. Thereafter, an operation is being conducted to nab the terrorists, according to IG Kashmir Vijay Kumar.

Hours later, two militants were killed by the security forces in an encounter. Tuesdays killings have taken the total number of militants killed to three.

“We believe LeT has carried this attack. We will give a befitting reply to the terrorists. Three terrorists escaped after the firing at check-post,” Kumar had said on Monday.
