Film studio Warner Bros India on Sunday announced that Hollywood director Christopher Nolan directed espionage thriller ‘Tenet’ will be released in India on December 4.

The science fiction thriller directed and written by Christopher Nolan and produced by Emma Thomas will be the first big-budget Hollywood movie to go for a theatrical release since the COVID-19 pandemic suspended movie screening in theatres across the globe in March.

A video of Bollywood actor Dimple Kapadia, who made her Hollywood debut in the Nolan thriller was shared by the official page of Warner Bros India to promote the release date of the movie.

In the video Kapadia stated, “The wait is finally over. I’m extremely delighted to announce the release of Christopher Nolan’s ‘Tenet’ on December 4 all across cinemas in India. It has been an honour for me to be associated with this project.”

The 50-year-old Nolan has perfected the screenplay of the movie over five years after deliberating with the script’s central ideas over a decade. Nolan, who is known for his eight Oscar nominations and has made movies like The Dark Knight, Inception, Dunkirk, Memento, has deftly manipulated the concept of time throughout his latest project Tenet. The movie stars actors like John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Kenneth Branagh, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Michael Caine, Clemence Poesy, and Himesh Patel.

The plot follows a secret agent (Washington) as he manipulates the flow of time to prevent World War III, and parts of it were shot in Mumbai in September 2019.

Kapadia reminded audiences that the movie could only be thoroughly enjoyed on the big screen due to the sheer essence of its visual scale and grandeur.

Tenet is Nolan’s latest project since he last released the movie Dunkirk in 2017, that earned him an Academy Award nominations for Best Picture and Best Director.
