Punjab Chief Minister, Captain Amarinder Singh, was on Thursday spotted dancing and celebrating with the Indian Army soldiers of two Sikh regiments. The captain had served on the regiment during his term in the force, reported ANI.

In a video that has surfaced online, the chief minister is seen dancing to the tune of the jawans. The event was organised to commemorate the regiments’ 175th Raising Day. The clip was shared by news agency ANI on Twitter. Watch.

The video comes amid several developments in Punjab politics. Recently, Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu, despite Amardinder’s reservations was made the president of Congress’s Punjab wing.

Meanwhile, in another development and just a day ahead of Sidhu’s investiture, CM Amarinder Singh invited all the state legislators for tea on Friday and then attend Siddhu’s ceremony.

Punjab CM’s media adviser tweeted, “Punjab CM @capt_amarinder has invited all @INCPunjab MLAs, MPs and senior party functionaries at Punjab Bhawan for tea at 10 am on Friday. They will all then go to Punjab Congress Bhawan together from there for the installation of the new PPCC team.” Sidhu will formally assume charge of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee, along with four working presidents, at Punjab Congress Bhawan.”

Amarinder, whose presence in Sidhu’s coronation ceremony was earlier unconfirmed, will attend the programme to be held on Friday, reported PTI.

Navjot Sidhu and Amarinder Singh have been at loggerheads for quite some time, with the Amritsar (East) MLA recently attacking the CM over the desecration cases.

The chief minister had also opposed his appointment as the state Congress chief and had said he won’t meet Sidhu until the cricketer-turned-politician apologises for his “derogatory” tweets against him.

Sidhu will formally assume the charge of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee, along with four working presidents, at Punjab Congress Bhawan on Friday.
