A website named Modistory.in has been launched to share “inspiring” stories of people who have met Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the years. 

“Announcing the launch of MODI STORY, a volunteer-driven initiative to bring together inspiring moments from Narendra Modi’s life, as narrated by his co-travellers. Inaugurated by Smt. Sumitra Gandhi Kulkarni, granddaughter of Mahatma Gandhi,” the portal wrote on its official Twitter handle.

The Twitter bio of the portal reads, “An initiative to bring forward Narendra Modi’s inspiring life story, through the eyes of those who have caught a glimpse into his life.”

The website is a platform for people to share anecdotes and experiences of meeting the Indian Prime Minister. Currently, the portal includes stories from BJP Punjab leader Manoranjan Kalia from Punjab, Rasbihari Maniyar, PM Modi’s school principal at Vadnagar in Gujarat, and Sharda Prajapati, who offered the PM a stay at her house during his political tours in the 1990s.

The website also includes videos of Olympic gold medallist Neeraj Chopra and Indian badminton player Pullela Gopichand sharing the times they’ve spent with the political leader. 

“We never felt like we were speaking with the Prime Minister of India. Such unpretentious behaviour is heartening,” Chopra said in the video. 

The cover image of the portal displays a glass of piping hot tea, depicting PM Modi’s early childhood years of selling the beverage at a local tea stall in Gujarat.

The Twitter account also features an image of Sumitra Gandhi Kulkarni, the granddaughter of Mahatma Gandhi, holding a device that reads “Modi Story”. The backdrop of the image features a big placard of the initiative. 

“Gandhiji taught us to be the change we wish to see for Bharat. Modi is that change”, Kulkarni said.
