Actor Rhea Chakraborty, under probe by three Central agencies, was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Tuesday in connection with a drug case linked to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput.
The other two agencies probing her are the Enforcement Directorate, looking into money laundering charges against her, and the CBI that is probing Rajput’s death case.
Rhea, 28, was arrested after a three-day interrogation by the NCB, days after her brother Showik was arrested. The actor was taken for a medical examination after the arrest and is scheduled to appear before a magistrate.

Here is what to expect now:
*After the arrest and medical examination, Rhea will be produced before a magistrate where the NCB may or may not seek her custody. This depends on what kind of information they already have and whether they need to question her further to join any missing links.
* The magistrate will decide who gets Rhea Chakraborty’s custody. Her legal team can straightaway apply for bail before the sessions court.
* The NCB will then file a chargesheet, detailing the charges against her. The court will then decide whether sufficient prima facie evidence is available to put Rhea on trial.
* This will be followed by the court hearing where both sides will present their case, witnesses, and arguments.
* At the end of these hearings, the court will pronounce its order. This order will, however, be open to challenge in a higher court.
