The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Friday declared the results of class 10th and class 12th exams. Yuvakshi Vig and Tanya Singh from Uttar Pradesh’s Noida and Bulandshahr districts topped the exam with 100% marks, 500/500.

The results were declared on the board’s official website – cbseresults.nic.in. This year, the overall pass percentage in the CBSE class 12 exam has gone up by over 9% with a jump in the number of candidates scoring more than 90 and 95 % marks in comparison to the pre-pandemic academic sessions.

This year, the pass percentage stand at 92.71 with 33,432 candidates having scored above 90% and 1,34,797 above 95.

For the first time, the CBSE exams were conducted in two terms. While the first term was conducted in November-December in 2021, the second term were held in May-June.

A weightage of 30% has been given to first term marks while 70% weightage has been accorded to the second term marks.

Who are Yuvakshi Vig and Tanya Singh?

Yuvakshi Vig is a Humanities student from Amity International School, Noida. She scored full marks in all the five subjects – English, History, Political Science, Psychology and Painting. As per DNA India, she is 17 years old.

While talking to the Indian Express, Vig said, “I wasn’t really expecting it. I had given all my attention to what I was doing and just hoped for the best possible outcome.”

The CBSE topper further said that she wants to pursue a degree in Psychology from Delhi University.

Tanya Singh is from the Delhi Public School in Bulandshahr. In an interview with APBLive, she said, “There is no doubt that I am thrilled with the results but what is even more heartening is how much happiness this has brought to my parents and teachers at school.”
