Miss Mexico Andrea Meza, who was crowned Miss Universe for the year 2020 at Florida’s Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, is the third Mexican to bag the title. The 26-year-old is a software engineer by profession and an activist against gender violence.
Meza has often spoken about about how society has moved ahead in terms of stereotyping beauty standards. “Never let someone tell you that you aren’t valuable,'” she said during the question and answer round.

Born in Chihuahua City to Alma Carmona and Santiago Meza, Meza has Chinese ancestary. She grew up as the eldest of three daughters and after completing secondary school, Meza enrolled in the Autonomous University of Chihuahua, where she studied software engineering. She graduated in 2017 and subsequently began working in Mexico as a software engineer while taking up modelling assignments.

In 2020, Meza was crowned Mexicana Universal Chihuahua 2020, allowing her to represent Chihuahua at Mexicana Universal 2020.
In the 69th Miss Universe pageant held on Sunday, India’s Adline Castelino made it to the top five list .
