Eknath Shinde is the Cabinet Minister of Urban Development and Public Works in Government Of Maharashtra. Shinde is a Member of Legislative Assembly from Kopri-Pachpakhadi constituency of Thane, Maharashtra as a member of Shiv Sena.

Born on February 9, 1964, he has been elected consecutively for 4 terms in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly for 2004, 2009, 2014 and 2019.

In popular culture – The Marathi biographical film Dharmaveer was based on Anand Dighe . It was written and directed by Pravin Tarde and was released on May 13, 2022.

Eknath Shinde hails from Maratha community of the mountainous Jawali taluka in Satara, Maharashtra. After coming to Thane city, he studied till 11th standard, from Mangala High School and Junior College, Thane and then started his early career as a small worker.

The Shiv Sena leader has reportedly been upset with the party for some time now after being deliberately sidelined. He enjoys a good relationship with all parties.

The Sena strongman also has strong support from several Sena MLAs and has considerable clout in the Sena stronghold Thane.
