Punjab Police on Monday evening arrested Manpreet Singh from Uttrakhand along with five others in connection to singer-politician Sidhu Moose Wala‘s murder.
Manpreet Singh is a known drug dealer, as per India Today. He was produced before the court and has been sent to five days in police custody. He has been arrested for attempt to murder, rioting, and unlawful gathering and for arms related crimes in the past, the report added, quoting police.
Singh and the five others were caught in Dehradun with assistance from the Uttarakhand Police and the Special Task Force (STF). One of them, as per police suspicion, is a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which took responsibility for Moose Wala’s murder.

A report by the Times of India said that Manpreet Singh is suspected to have provided key logistical support in the killing. He was trying to hide amoung the yatra pilgrims on way to Hemkund before the police team nabbed him.
A Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar had claimed responsibility for the murder of Sidhu Moose Wala. He is an associate of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The Punjab DGP VK Bhawra, during a press conference on Sunday, said that the attack on the Congress leader seemed to be an act of inter-gang rivalry.

Meanwhile, Moosewaala was cremated at his native village in Mansa district on Tuesday afternoon, two days after he was shot dead. His body was brought to his home in Moosa village from Mansa civil hospital amid tight security on Tuesday morning. An autopsy conducted at the hospital found 25 bullet wounds on his body. The singer’s right elbow was broken due to bullet injuries and he had sustained maximum bullets on his chest and abdomen.
