Congress leader and Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi recently visited Nepal and that has become a topic of discussion on social media. While the BJP slammed the visit, Congress is defending it. It is reported that he went to Kathmandu to attend a wedding of one of his Nepali friends, Sumanima Udas.

Meanwhile, a video of his Nepal visit is making rounds on social media. In the video, Rahul Gandhi is seen at a nightclub, purportedly ‘Lord of the Drinks’.

Kathmandu Post reported that Rahul Gandhi on Monday was in Kathmandu. After leaving the airport, he stayed at the Marriott Hotel with his three companions.

Udas was part of the team that was awarded the prestigious Cine Golden Eagle Award in 2012 for reporting on slavery in Indian villages.

Sumnima has a journalism degree from Lee University. She later acquired a master’s degree from Oxford University.

Why is Rahul Gandhi’s video viral on social media?

The BJP stirred up a controversy by sharing a video of Rahul Gandhi partying at a nightclub in Kathmandu. However, the Congress defended its top leader and asked “What was wrong in it?”

While BJP’s Shehzaad Poonawalla said, “Rajasthan burns but RAHUL GANDHI prefers partying over his own party,” Congress general secretary Randeep Surjewala clarified that Rahul Gandhi was attending a friend’s wedding in Kathmandu.

He also sharply advised the BJP to focus on issues of import instead of going after the Congress leader for no reason.
