Prolific actor Rajinikanth turned 70 on Saturday. Known chiefly for his power-packed displays and larger than life portrayal of characters on the silver screen, ‘the thalaivar’ is now gearing up for a political run.

The 70-year-old has declared that he will drift his party in 2021, a move, the megastar has been contemplating for a long time.

While fans have adored Ranjikath as an on-screen character, their reception to his entry in the political space is yet to be gauged. Rajinikanth appreciates his colossal fanbase who never fail to shower their choicest blessings on him through different mediums. His birthday is a grand celebration in the South.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished the superstar on his 70th birthday. He tweeted, “Dear @rajinikanth Ji, wishing you a Happy Birthday! May you lead a long and healthy life.” Suniel Shetty wrote, “He has surely been the biggest inspiration for me and many others. Happiest Birthday to Rajini Sir!Extremely honoured to release our beloved Superstar @rajinikanth Sir’s 70th Birthday CDP.”

Indian composer and singer AR Rahman also wished Rajnikanth on his birthday and wrote, “Extremely privileged to release superstar @Rajinikanth’s 70th Birthday CDP on behalf of his fans. Wishing you a great birthday and good health! #HBDSuperstarRajinikanth.”

Actors Dulquer Salmaan, Raghava Lawrence, Keerthi Suresh, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sakshi Agarwal, PA Ranjith, Sivakarthikeyan and Tovino Thomas also wished the superstar on his birthday.

Rajinikanth has pledged to drift his political party in January 2021 and a declaration in that respect will be made on December 31, 2020. 

Talking almost the same, Rajinikanth has said: “The time has come to alter the destiny of Tamil Nadu. Political and government alter within the state are imperative. It’ll unquestionably alter. The political alter is vital and is the compulsion of time. In case not now, it isn’t conceivable ever. Everything should be changed. We are going to alter everything.” He offered all to back him to bring within the alter.
