Elder abuse is one of the least investigated and addressed types of violence. The UN International Plan of Action called it a human rights and public health issue. Globally, by 2030, it is expected that the population of older people will be up to 1.4 billion, according to National Today. And the research says that up to 6% of the older population suffer one or more forms of abuse, which mostly go unreported. This day aims to make sure that we focus on the well-being of our elders.
