Speaking on the occasion of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday that the whole world is not only waiting for Indian vaccines for COVID-19 but also looking at how it rolls out the largest vaccination programme, reports PTI.
The 70-year-old said India is ready with not one but two made-in-India coronavirus vaccines for the protection of humanity.
Addressing the Indian diaspora, he said the nation always stands with them, saying that ” 45 lakh people rescued under Vande Bharat mission during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
In his address at the inauguration of the 16th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) Convention, PM Modi said, “Doubts were once expressed about India’s democracy, but today it is India where democracy is strongest, most vibrant.”
He said, talking about the pandemic, that India is among the nations with the lowest fatality rate and the highest recovery rate. He further praised Indians, saying, during the pandemic, people showed their capabilities and the way the country stood together was unparalleled.
