We’ve all done it at least once–
burnt a pan so badly that the only option (a tempting one!) we had was to throw it away rather than spend
what feels like an eternity of scrubbing and cleaning it.
Worry not; now a
handy kitchen hack can help you keep your pans in sparkling condition. All you require
for the trick are a few common household items like baking soda, vinegar and
some water.
You’ll need:
Vinegar 1 cup
Baking Soda 1
tablespoons
Water 1 cup
A scrubber
Method
Fill the burnt pan
with water, add vinegar
Being the pan to
the boil and them remove from the stove
Add baking soda and
let it fizz
Wash the pan and
scrub away the burnt bits
TIP
For even more
stubborn marks, make a paste using baking soda and a few drops of water. Apply
it on the marks for a little while and then wash it again.
How does it happen?
Baking soda, or
sodium bicarbonate is a gentle abrasive that helps in cleaning tough marks.
Vinegar is acidic in nature and acts as a bleach. It helps in removing stains
and rust.
Use a sugar cube
Another interesting
and unconventional method that actually helps in cleaning scorched pans is
using sugar cube. Just wet the surface of the burned pan and scrub it with
sugar cubes until the bits disappear. You can repeat it with a fresh sugar
cube.
TIP
Don’t add too much
water, the sugar will simply dissolve.
