This year’s Met Gala after party will be hosted by singer-actor Rihanna herself. Only days ahead of the 2021 Met Gala, the 33-year-old took to Instagram to share on her stories that she will be taking the hosting duties upon herself. 

She shared a photo of an invite that read, “Annual Gala After Party hosted by Rihanna.” She further noted that the event will be beginning at 11pm on 13 September, adding, “If you planning a MET Ball after-party… don’t.”

Rihanna is known to be a regular at the Met Gala. Her red carpet looks never miss a chance to go viral. It was in 2019 that her fans were left disappointed when she could not attend the event as she was busy launching her beauty brand Fenty in the UK.

She had later confirmed her absence by sharing screenshot of a tweet of one of her fans, that read, “Rihanna at home playing with that f***ing makeup”

Now that she will be hosting the after party just like she did in 2018 at  New York City’s Up & Down club, fans have been speculating that she’d be attending this year’s Gala.

“Omg does this mean Rihanna is going to the Met Gala???” one person tweeted.

Another asked, “OK but is Rihanna going to the Met Gala?”

Some were very interested in getting a pass to the party, with one of them writing,“I would literally give anything in the world to attend this.”

While she might be attending the event, Zendaya revealed she would not be attending as she will be filming for Euphoria. 

“I will be on Euphoria. I know that this is the first time you’re gonna hear that I’m not going,” she said during an interview. “My fans are going to be very upset with me. I will unfortunately not be able to attend because I will be working on Euphoria.”
