Mary Gazall-Bearslee, a Michigan woman, was reunited with her ring after a huge gap of 46 years, thanks to the power of social media. The woman had lost her class of 1975 ring and did not expect to see it ever again. However, this was not the case.

It so happened that she received a message from a man named Chris Nord, according to the news website UPI. At first, she was cautious about opening the message but when she opened it, she received the shock of a lifetime.

“I received a message in my messenger that said, ‘I have something that may belong to you.’ So, I was very cautious about opening it up. I thought, ‘oh no, it’s going to be spam or something,'” Gazall-Beardslee was quoted as saying by local media.

“I went on his profile, and I saw, ‘Please share this,’ and it was a picture of my class ring,” Gazall-Beardslee added.

Nord uploaded the photo of the ring on his Facebook page and it was widely shared. As per UPI, alumni suggested that the initials “MMG” could belong to Mary Gazall.

But how did Nord come in possession of the ring. He said his brother had found the ring in the trash about 20 years back and had kept it safe ever since and recently he decided to search for his owner.

“He said he’s had it for the last 20 years. So, we don’t know what’s happened the first 26 years,” Gazall-Beardslee said.
