Srishti Goswami, a 19-year-old girl from Uttarakhand’s Haridwar, will assume the role of the state’s chief minister for a day on Sunday, in the event, which resembles the 2001 actor Anil Kapoor-starrer ‘Nayak: The Real Hero.’

Goswami will assume the role on the occasion of the National Girl Child Day, which is celebrated each year on January 24, news website Jagran reported.

The 19-year-old Haridwar resident is a BSc Agriculture seventh semester student at BSM PG College Roorkee. She is the chief minister of Uttarakhand’s Bal Vidhan Sabha.

On Sunday, the one-day CM will administer from the state’s summer capital, Gairsain, and will review several schemes run by the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP)-led state government. The schemes she is going to work on are Atal Ayushman Scheme, Smart City project, Homestay Scheme by the tourism department and several other developmental projects, Jagran English reported.

When Goswami takes charge, officials of various departments will give a five-minute presentation each on their plans. The state’s Child Rights Protection Commission has written a letter to the Chief Secretary to ensure that all officials are present at the presentation. It’ll take place from 12 pm to 3 pm at the state assembly building, Usha Negi, the president of the commission said,  according to Jagran English.

In the 2001 Bollywood movie ‘Nayak’, actor Anil Kapoor, who plays a journalist, assumes the role of a one-day CM who goes about taking bold steps regarding issues faced by the people.
