Indian pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah took the seventh five-wicket-haul
career to put India in a dominant position in the decisive third Test against South
Africa
for a dream return to Newlands Cricket Ground.

Bumrah burst onto the Test cricket scene
with a blistering display on debut in Cape Town during India’s previous tour to
the Rainbow Nation in 2018, when he dismissed Faf du Plessis – for a duck –
Quinton de Kock and AB de Villiers in the second innings.

On his return to the venue, Bumrah completed
the seventh five-wicket-haul
of his Test career to help inch India closer to their
first-ever Test series win in South Africa.

Ex-cricketers and fans took note of Bumrah’s
heroics from the match, with former England captain Michael Vaughan calling him
“the best in the world at the moment” across all formats.

“How good is @Jaspritbumrah93 !!! I reckon
across all formats he is the best in the World at the moment .. #SAvIND,”
Vaughan tweeted.

African pace legend Dale Steyn said on Twitter.

Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan called
Bumrah a “champion bowler”.

Former Indian opener Wasim Jaffer called
Bumrah “phenomenal” while adding a lesson for Proteas pacer Marco Jansen. “Those
who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it. Just phenomenal,” Jaffer tweeted.
